In this class, beginner students will learn the basics of drawing and painting. The course will start with preliminary drawing exercises including studies in still life, techniques in shading, perspective, and how to employ light and shadow. The second half of the course will focus on full scale paintings, including color mixing, texture and brush techniques & applications.
Master artists (both present & past) will be referenced throughout the course for inspiration, and for students to borrow from their techniques & applications to employ to their own pieces. After more thorough exercises & practice to understand composition, students will move on to creating final paintings and receive professional feedback. This is an ideal beginner’s class for older kids who show a keen interest in art.
Class is offered as single day drop-ins or sign up for multi-week full course by selecting the start date from the registration calendar below.

Masks are mandatory to fully cover nose and mouth and must not be removed during your session.
