THE BAND:
Los Chantas is a multinational tango ensemble based in New York City. Their repertoire draws from the great Argentine tango tradition from the “guardia vieja” to the present. The group has been playing in milongas, festivals, clubs, theaters, and other venues in and around New York since its inception in 2002. With original arrangements of songs by Gardel, Troilo, Salgán, Piazzolla, and others, and a playful, improvised style, Los Chantas infuse classic tangos with new life and unique flavor. On August 24th, the line up will include David Hodges (bandeon), Emilio Teubal (piano), Sergio R. Reyes (violin), Pablo Lanouguere (bass), and Diana Lopez (vocals).
THE GALLERY:
The Space Station, by This Friday or Next Friday, premieres at this year’s Live at the Archway. Tfnf is likely the tiniest, most inconsequential art gallery in DUMBO, Brooklyn, probably in NYC, and maybe on the face of the earth. It was founded by Nathan Sinai Rayman, and he runs it with Zach Seeger, his Director of Programs.
